Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars
Carriage Mounted Spreader Bar - As the name implies, this mast includes 3 parts. The outside part mounts firmly to the lift truck. The next intermediate part telescopes in the outside part. The innermost section telescopes inside of the intermediate section. The internal part and the middle section both elevate while the lift cylinders extend. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides within the interior section. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas such as doorways where overhead clearances are restricted. This particular mast is often equipped with a center cylinder so as to allow the fork carriage elevate some distance before the mast parts commence extension.
The 2 Stage Mast consists of two parts. The internal section telescopes inside of the outer and raises while the lift cylinders extend. The outer part of this particular mast model is attached to the lift truck. The fork carriage is actually positioned inside the inner part. This particular mast type has a taller lowered height than an equivalent lift height quad mast or 3 stage mast.
